Z's first long trip part II
Sweet potato
The minute we stepped out the airport, the door to the sauna room we would hang out for the next two weeks opened. Hot and humid. Nothing like baby Z ever experienced before. Welcome to mommy and daddy's childhood home town, mei mei.

Z only needed one night to adjust to the time difference. Thanks to her I had no problem adjusting either (I passed out every time my head touched a pillow.) As soon as we arrived at Apo's home, daddy's relatives started trickling in to see Z. It's always fun hearing them talking about Z's resemblance to her dad and how her daddy was like as a baby.
Following Apo to market
Since Z was already 6 months old and started to eat solids (somewhat) I let her try all the best Taiwan has to offer. Every morning when she got up Apo would already have that day's treats lined up for her. Some days we got up a little earlier, and we would go down to the market with Apo to pickup fresh fruits and veggies for Z. She pretty much loves everything we gave her-papaya (yum!) lan-wu, bananas (different from the ones we get in US, much sweeter and flavorful) guava (yes guava, we gave her the soft center part,) charcoal roasted sweet potato, oh and she also started eating asparagus in Taiwan! Who knew, a 8 month old baby can eat her way thru Taiwan too!
