Toronto Trip 08/2010

We went on a last minute trip to Toronto the week before Z's 2nd birthday.  I was pretty excited about going since I've always wanted to visit Canada.  This would also be Z's last free trip as a "lap infant."

Peeka...

..Boo! at Toronto airport

Getting a ride to our rental car.

After breakfast & a much needed nap, we visited Riverdale Farm @ downtown Toronto.

Nice day at the farm

Visiting the chickens

Very picturesque.

Z loves saying hi to bees.

On Tuesdays, there's a farmer's market at the farm.  We bought some organic blueberries, nectarines & grapes.  They weren't the sweetest, but very flavorful.  The strawberry ice cream was delish!

Z met a new friend at the park.  Her name is Wednesday.

The two new friends playing ball together.

My blueberry baby.

The next day was rainy, so we had a leisurely lunch at Graceful Vegetarian restaurant @ Markham.  The portion was huge and everything was yummy!  Z and I stuffed ourselves.

For dinner we went to the EX (yay! fair!)

synchronized eating dual

Chilling with daddy after visiting the farm animals

My favorite fair food here.

The waffle was hot and crunchy with cold and creamy ice cream...yum!

Breakfast courtesy of daddy. Thank you!!!

Savored this quiet moment with Timbits.

Niagara falls!  So hot.

suited up and ready to see the falls up close.

 The American side.

The Canadian side.

All wet.

on the last day we went to the Riverfront pier.  It was such as nice day and we really wanted to take the ferry to the islands.  Too bad we were short on time.  Nevertheless Z had a great time running up and down the pier and waving at people leaving on a boat.  they all smiled and waved back at her :0)  I don't know why but it makes me happy to see my little girl making other people smile, maybe it's because on some level they see what I know all along-she'super!

Kindergym

Z loves her kindergym class.  Every class the kids do a different gymnastic activity.  Today it was the trampoline.  Z loves jumping so this was right up her alley.

Z loves it!  She went three times.

We ran late so we missed the songs.  Z didn't seem to mind though. Here she was enjoying bubble time.

Super excited

Grandpa came to class with us today, so he joined Z for marching with bells~

Z wanted some muffins

Z helped mixing all the ingredients together (yes, even cracking the eggs) and started filling each muffin cup after I showed her how.

Love those lil' chubby hands

Almost ready for the oven!

Saying "chee" to the camera

checking on her muffins

She kept checking to see if they were ready

Finally they were done! They look good.  Now the taste test

Still too hot.  blow

Z really wanted to eat it but couldn't

"Now? mama??"

Touch test indicated it was still too hot

blow.  Longest minute in Z's life.

Oh yay!

All of Z's hard work paying off.  Good job Z!

OC fair 2010

Being the fair-natic that I am, I couldn't wait to go to the OC fair!  Last year when we took Z, she was almost one year old.  This year was much more fun with her because she could eat the fair food and check out the exhibits.

The elephant ride was right by the entrance.  Z loves elephants and she was really excited to see them!  I wasn't sure if she would get on since she loves horses too but wouldn't go on pony rides....to my surprise she was only a little nervous when we got on, and when the young college guy working there the attendant picked her up to put her in her seat she was actually ok with it!  The ride was short but super bumpy (& very expensive)!

Yum! Roasted corn!  Z's face says it all...

This year's main attraction is the deep fried butter.  I wanted to try it but just couldn't find a way of thinking it as appetizing...

Eating sweet potato fries under the big moo-moo...

Z loves her ketchup just like her mama...

We saw so many farm animals, Z was totally loving it!  Here were the sheep....

The cows...

The Z cow.....

Petting the lil' piglets.

Saying hi to the lil' calf....

more piggies and their mommies.

This was the second food vendor that I found to be kinda gross...hmmm I don't know about eating raw fish at the fair grounds...

This was made of bread.

The big orange represents at the OC fair!

After an afternoon of walking, time to relax the feet with a good massage....too bad Z's feet couldn't reach :0D

See you next year!
