A night out on the town..

Tonight we went to visit siw at her parents' house.  They also have two little dogs, Kitty & Puku!  Super adorable :0D Z really enjoyed playing with them but was confused when we taught her one of the doggies' names is "kitty" (???)  hahaha!

After that we went with Auntie Alice to her dance studio to watch her showcase.  She is a really good dancer and Z enjoyed everyone's routine.  I think it was all the bling costumes and the music that had her mesmerized~

Z got to dance with Tomas-a professional ballroom dancer! She was the youngest partner for him :0D

Disney trip 4/22/10

We were on our way to the farmers' market but I missed our exit...oh well, guess we'll go to Disneyland instead!
The weather was bad most of the day but it cleared up in the afternoon, so there weren't too many people there, perfect!

The rides we went on today: carousel, the Nemo submarine ride, the train, Winnie the Pooh ride (no line yay!)
When Z saw a little girl getting her pictures taken on top of Pooh's honey pots, she insisted on getting a pic there too...

Galactic Greetings! 4/19/10

Hahaha! I swear it was me & Z :0D
We went to Disneyland  this morning after Kindergym with our play group.  It was the first time we went there during the day.  We got to go on a few more rides this time, and finally when we were riding on the train Z fell asleep (must be the breeze and gentle rocking..)
We went on the carousel again today, and checked out Toon Town! Z and her buddy Eddie went to visit Goofy' house, along with Donald's boat, & Mickey's house!  Z also loved riding on the double decker bus (we sat up in the front with the driver!) and the horse drawn carriage.  Then we went on the Buzz lightyear ride, Alice in Wonderland ride (we saw the Mad Hatter & Alice riding in the spinning cup!) and finally on the train around Disneyland.
Can't wait to go back soon! Next time we're going to check on Frontierland!

We are San Franciscans! Day 5

Since it was our last day in the city, auntie M made sure our schedule was jammed pack with actions!  We started the day with the Academy of Sciences-another super cool place to visit in the Golden Gate Park.

Lucky for us, auntie M is a member of the academy, so we got to go in with her for free~

We got there in the morning with bus load of school kids pouring in the building, so Auntie M suggested we start with the biggest feature of the academy-the rain forest!  The rain forest is housed in a four story glass building with spiraling ramps.  And with each ascending ramp we got to visit a different level of the forest.  We got to see a lot of birds and butterflies up close.  I kinda rushed thru the whole thing because they kept the temperature in there just like the real Amazon-super hot and humid! And it was not exactly the temperature I wanted while being surrounded by hundreds of school kids!  Maybe we'll come back next time in the afternoon, after all the school trips leave.

Z was so curious about everything she saw...

Once we reached the top level of the rain forest, there was an elevator that took us down to the basement, where we got to visit another much anticipated exhibit-the aquarium!  Granted the Academy is not Monterey Aquarium, we were pleasantly surprised at how extensive the exhibit was.

Haha Z was tired! Not a bad place to nap, sleeping with the fishes (and walk away when you're done!)

                                                             Having a snack to recharge.

Q's mom told us about a playroom for toddlers inside the academy, so Z and I paid it a visit.  It was cute, had a boat and a tree house where the kids could climb and pretend to cook, sleep, even steer the boat.  The only thing we didn't enjoy was how crowded it was.  And also I met some parents I didn't appreciate.  Sharing shouldn't be a one way street.  That's just my personal opinion.

                                                                      Z the boat captain!

The food at the academy was crazy expensive.  Ok so it was organic but it still didn't justify the price.  Good thing we packed some treats from home so we only got a hot soup to share.  The whole time we ate and rested our legs the rain drizzled in the court yard, so the hot soup really hit the spot.  See how Z enjoyed hers??

After our light lunch we walked around the academy a little bit more (and saw the white alligator-apparently he's famous) auntie M picked us up and off we went to east bay.  Both Z and I were so beat and we completely passed out in the car ride and didn't wake up til we got to Q's house.

After a much needed nap, it was snack time (again!) Thank you Q's mommy for a healthy & yummy treat!

Q is auntie M's nephew.  He's about two months younger than Z.  I've been seeing Q on Facebook and looking forward for Z to meet Q for awhile.  Z was her usual self, as soon as she got in the house and saw the toys she just threw herself in!  Haha definitely no sign of restraint there!

Q was such a generous lil host.  He had (almost) no problem sharing toys with Z :0D

At night we went back to the city to visit auntie X at her house.  We've never been to her place before and it was the first time Z met Hazelnut the rabbit.  He was fearless and oh so friendly-he kept going up to Z to check her out!  Tonight's dinner was in auntie X's neighborhood.  I really don't think I can find bad tasting restaurants with my foodie friends by my side...

The next day we flu home.  On our flight was the Standford men's swim team.  For the whole entire hour Z couldn't sit still and she kept oogling at all the college guys.  Haha I thought it was funny how a 17 months old knew to check out young hot guys, but I doubt Z's dad would share my view (hehe!)

We had such a fun-filled trip to the city, all thanks to all the aunties who took time out to show us around, take us to their favorite restaurants, open their home to make us feel welcome, and research about toddler friendly places for Z.  We couldn't thank you guys enough!

We are San Franciscans! Day 4

We're really loving the Golden Gate Park! When we were at the arboretum the other day, Z met a little girl and they played together.  Her mom told us about how awesome the playground at the park is, so....here we were!

I have to say, the mom was right! The playground is huge!  Z was "wowing" at it when we walked up, and I was amazed at its size and the number of kids there on a Sunday morning.  It was a popular spot!

Next to the playground there was an indoor carousel.  I think it was historical...this was Z's first carousel ride, and boy was she scared :0D
She wouldn't sit on the horse so we had to ride on one of the benches.  Towards the end she learned it wasn't that scary so she loosened up and started enjoying herself.

I seized the opportunity and hopped on a horse with her...together we bopped up and down with the music until the ride stop.  Z kept saying "horsey horsey."

After the playground we met up with auntie X and had a yummy lunch at a nearby Thai restaurant.  Yup we walked there again! I have to say of all the restaurants we had in the neighborhood, all of them were good!  Again lucky auntie (and I have no idea how you stay so slim in this environment?!)

After lunch we decided to walk back to the park, this time to Stow Lake.  We've drove past it a few time and it seemed like a good place for Z to stroll-it's got water and duckies-things she loved to look at!

We weren't disappointed-the walk was so fun.  Z got to say hi to lots and lots of ducks, shared her apple chips with fearless squirrels.  And she said hi to all the people and babies passing by.

We ended the day with dinner at a Korean tofu restaurant.  The food was so good, and so much!  Oh and of course we couldn't go home without a little treat from Marco Polo!  It's the best ice cream in the city!  Z and I called it a night with some of my favorite ice cream-lychee ( love that there are little bits of lychee in the ice cream) and taro (so creamy and not artificial tasting at all!)

We're San Franciscans! Day 3

First thing Z did in the morning...of course, was to say hi to her bunny friends.

Today we drove down south to the very reason we visited SF...Auntie J's baby shower~! The baby shower was very nicely decorated..Z loved the balloons and all the baby theme decors..

Haha...Z was not shy at all with aunties and uncles she's never met before!  Most of all, she loved all the babies in attendance.

I just have to post this pic....isn't it adorable!! Z loved the boys too, she kept rocking them in their car seat and talking to them.

After the baby shower we went to the local mall and hung out there....it was so nice to see all the aunties and having them spending time with Z today.  Next time we see auntie J she will be a mommy! Cant wait to meet you soon baby :0D

Downtown Disney

I've been contemplating about getting a Disney annual pass since other mommies from our play group told me about how much their kiddies love the rides there.  Since Z has no clue about Mickey Mouse & gang I took her to downtown Disney one afternoon to see how she likes it there...

And Z loved it! She kept saying "Wow!" at everything!

Haha! If she enjoyed downtown Disney this much, can't wait to show her the actual Disneyland!

Z tried on jewelry @ Disney store...is this just another phase (like the purse-toting) or do I have a girlie girl on my hands??
