Z's prayer

Z's favorite teacher didn't show up at the school today.  I asked Z if the teacher had gone on vacation, Z replied "She's sick."

I usually ask Z to say a prayer for our F&F when they are not feeling well, so I suggested a prayer for her teacher while we were driving home.

Z has always asked about Jesus since I told her Christmas is Jesus' birthday and we get to have a big celebration because it's Jesus' bday party.  Also she gets presents for Easter because Jesus brings it to her.  In the past when I asked her to say a prayer to Jesus and she would ask "where's Jesus? He's not answering" and I would say Jesus lives at church (because church is his home) and he's everywhere and in our hearts, therefore he will always hear our prayers.

This time, strapped in her car seat, Z pretended to pick up a phone. " Hello Jesus, my teacher V is sick please help her feel better.  Thank you."  I turned around and asked what she was doing.  What she said brought tears to this crybaby momny's eyes: " I'm asking Jesus to make Teacher V feel better.  I'm talking to him in my heart."

Yes baby.

Sniff.

A special birthday party

Lately Z has been asking for a party.  So we decided today was going to be baby CoCo's birthday.  And we had a birthday party for her!

I got teary eyed looking at this on the way home from her school.   3-year old innocence on paper-smiling bunny, the sun, rainbow and green field-wish Z's world stays this way for as long as possible!

Anyhoo, it's time for a birthday party!
Location:  Z's house
Attendees:  the birthday girl, Z, me, princess puppy and party crasher Mila

dinner picnic.  Gotta eat healthy food before dessert!

A pic with the birthday girl

Z made a crown for baby CoCo.  Why, the birthday girl must be a princess on her birthday!
She also got pretty with necklace.

Cake time!  Z's decorating with sprinkles.

Yum~

All the doggies in attendance.  The party was a success!

Beach day!

Beautiful first weekend of summer 2012!  I woke up to Z's breakfast

Z also made dessert :)

Started our day with kids yoga

Warrior pose!  This class is so very cute.  Z had a great time. Can't wait to come again soon!

After Yoga, we picked up food from Mother's for a beach picnic (Z: just like curious George!)

After changing into her beach gear, Z couldn't wait to play.  Today was so nice that there was so much traffic going into Balboa (and out.)

Our lunch (at 3pm)  So hungry and so delish!

Z was hungry too.  I wasn't feeding her quick enough so she took over.

Little feet :)

Moving on up

Z is in her gymnastics class with a new teacher now.  She had just gotten the okay to move up to a more advanced level and her teacher from level 1 doesn't teach level 2.  I was not sure how she's going to take switcheroo since she adores her teacher E and the two could be seen in tender embrace during every session, but....surprisingly so far so good.

Happy cinco de mayo

Mother's day 2012

This year we celebrated Mother's day with the Moms on Saturday night.  Had good home style Korean food in South Bay with my brother's in-laws.

Happy Birthday JoJo!

Cake was sooooooooooooo good

The next morning, on the actual Mother's day, we all went to church.
Z drew me a picture in Sunday school.  She drew a rainbow over me because she "loves me so much"!
After church we went for brunch at Cafe Casse Croute.  Very mom and pop.  When I went up to the counter to pay I could see an assembly line of grandma/moms/aunts cooking and putting together the dishes.

Me and Monkey.

I ordered the Chef's grill mix.  A little bit of everything, sweet and savory.  It says alot that I did not drown anything in condiments.  In fact I ate it as-is.  NO KETCHUP!  The only thing I didn't finish was the bacon.  Applegate bacon aka the best bacon in the woooorld has ruined me for life!

I got a chocolate covered strawberry for being a mom today.  Sweet!

And monkey enjoyed it very much.

Love the food and the homeyness of the place.  And so inexpensive!  Will def come back.

In the afternoon, Z helped me put the final touches on the cake for tonight's get-together.

All done!  taste tested by Z

My little nerd is ready to party!  For mothers today!

Humming bird nest in the avocado tree.  We could see the mother hover but never went back to her babies.

The cake was yummy!  And all gone in a flash.

Happy mother's day y'all!

Clip-Clop!

This was a funny book we got from the library.  It was simple but humorous,  and Z loved it.

Last night Z was compelled to replicate the scene, so she rounded up all the animals in the house:

 Voila!  Our own "clip-clap!"

When it was time for bed, Z tried to sleep on her pillow in between the dog's legs...guess that was not comfortable so now the doggie and his crew are on her bedside.

Gardening trip

Z and I made a stop at lowes for plants and soil for the school garden.  Z had picked out the picture herself.  It was fun having her look for the plant with picture; we were looking for a long purple plant AND we found it!

Z was very proud.

Then we waked thru the edible section and smelled and tasted the herbs.  Can't wait to have our place and grow our garden together.

My favorite way to wake up

Today Z woke up before I did.  I could hear her playing with her toys and going to the next room.   A few moments later she came back with this:

"Mommy look! I made this for you"  She went on to point out all the animals and colors.  They are also under a rainbow.   She also told me she drew me a smiley face on the top right corner.
"Mommy I draw this for you because I love you."  She wrapped her little arms around my neck and kissed kissed kissed.
"Are you happy mommy?"
"Yes baby, thank you so much."
"Show me your happy face."
I smiled with my eyes still closed.
"Show me your teeth"
"Mommy I'm going to draw teeth for you."  She ran back to the other room.  Another few moments laster she came back with this:

I was told this is baby bunny.

Another bunny.

My favorite way of waking up.
